Classic City Kiwanis presents scholarship to Cherrelle Pullen

The Classic City Kiwanis Club of Athens presented a check for $1,000.00 to Cherrelle Pullen of Clarke Central High School as a scholarship award for excelling in academics, basketball, softball and track. Jon Ward, Clarke Central's Athletic Director, asked several coaches and teachers to submit names of graduating seniors deserving of this award. They unanimously chose Cherrelle due to her leadership qualities and teamwork.

Bob Turner, the club's scholarship committee chairman, coordinated the recipient selection and presentation of this award. "This annual scholarship allows us to show our appreciation to an outstanding high school athlete for years of dedication and hard work. We wish all of this year's graduating seniors great luck in their college enrollments and careers," Bob stated.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time (Kiwanis defining statement, adopted October, 2004). With more than 13,000 Clubs in 79 Countries and over 600,000 Members, their mission is "serving the children of the world" through fund raisers and volunteered time.
